I received my B.Sc. in Computer Science from Technical University of Cluj-Napoca, Romania, a M.S. and Ph.D. in Computer Science from University of Central Florida. I am currently Professor of Computer Science at the Carnegie Doctoral/Research University Georgia Southern.

My main research interest is in field of Human Computer Interaction. Under this "umbrella" I am exploring haptic systems/tactile interaction, augmented/mixed/cross reality paradigms and interactive Web3D interfaces. I am also active in the field of mobile/ubiquitous computing, Internet of Things and autonomous sensors systems and cyber security in n-Tier architectures. I am currently involved in research and development on multimodal training and simulation systems in the following areas: medical simulation (laparoscopic surgery, Web3D visualisation, X3D), advanced/efficient learning systems (hybrid systems/neural networks/LMS), and energy management simulation (autonomous sensors/building automation and associated Web3D simulation).

I received two Fulbright fellowships (2013, 2015) for outstanding research and support for international collaborations as well as grants from several organizations including: NASA-Johnson Space Center (3D Head Worn Displays), MD Anderson Cancer Foundation (Radiation X-Ray/Proton Therapy Training), The Link Foundation and Erasmus+ (EU). I served as co-PI on several NSF and SBIR (Small Business Innovative Research) grants in the past and I am professional member of the ACM and IEEE associations.

For more info please see my research & publications or request my CV. I am always open to research collaborations; if you want to discuss, please e-mail me or connect with me on LinkedIn.
